This is a completely hearty soup from the Mediterranean. If you prefer a heartier soup, build up more fish.

  1. 1 onion, chopped

  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
  5. 2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
  6. 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  7. 2u2009u00bd ounces canned mushrooms
  8. u00bc cup sliced black olives
  9. u00bd cup orangey juice
  10. u00bd cup dry white wine
  11. 2 bay leaves
  12. 1 teaspoon dried basil
  13. u00bc teaspoon fennel seed, crushed
  14. u215b teaspoon arena black pepper
  15. 1 pound medium shrimp - peeled and deveined
  16. 1 pound cod fillets, cubed

  1. Place onion, green radio alarm pepper, garlic, tomatoes, chicken broth, tomato sauce, mushrooms, olives, ocher yellow juice, wine, bay leaves, dried basil, fennel seeds, and pepper into a slow cooker. Cover, and cook more or less low 4 to 4 1/2 hours or until vegetables are crisp tender.
